The Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) is a ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), working with congregations and partners around the globe, to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes. Through gifts to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering collected at Easter, PHP provides grants to programs addressing hunger and its causes in the United States, and around the world.

Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People www.pcusa.org/sdop

Self-Development of People (SDOP) is a ministry that affirms God’s concern for humankind. Presbyterians and ecumenical partners, dissatisfied with poverty and oppression, are united in faith and action, through sharing, confronting and enabling. We participate in the empowerment of economically poor, oppressed and disadvantaged people who seek to change the structures that perpetuate poverty, oppression and injustice. We support SDOP through gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
www.pcusa.org/pda

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) enables congregations and mission partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to witness the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic events. PDA is funded through gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing, as well as special pleas following a particular crisis.

Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering
www.pcusa.org/pw/birthday

The Birthday Offering is collected in the spring of each year, to celebrate the blessings in the lives of Presbyterian women. The offering funds up to five projects that are not included in the ongoing General Assembly mission support, such as agricultural development, child care, community organization, criminal justice, drug counseling, economic justice, elderly care, employment training, homelessness, literacy, violence and women’s concerns.

Christmas Joy Offering
www.pcusa.org/cjoffering

Fifty percent of the recipients to the Christmas Joy Offering are distributed to the Church’s Board of Pensions, for assistance programs that provide support to retired and active church workers, as well as their spouses and families. The other fifty percent supports Presbyterian-related racial and ethnic education through the General Assembly Council.

Souper Bowl of Caring
www.souperbowl.org

Souper Bowl of Caring equips and mobilizes congregations, schools and business to positively impact their communities by collecting money or food on Super Bowl weekend. 100% of the collections are donated directly to the charity of each group’s choice. The youth at the Kennett First Presbyterian Church select the local agency to be helped by our own offering each year. In 2009, our Souper Bowl of Caring offering benefited Virgie’s Place in Kennett, a community relief agency.
